Summary
On October 7th, 2022, the World Karate Federation (WKF) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Koyamada International Foundation (KIF Global) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) at the Official Residence of Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles to officially join the Guardian Girls program and jointly launched the new partnership project called Guardian Girls Global Karate Project ("Guardian Girls Karate"). As part of the partnership, WKF plans to develop the Guardian Girls Karate Academy in partnerships with its National Federation members around the world.
What
The Guardian Girls Karate Academy is a permanent or a long-term women's Karate self-defense course developed within a WKF's National Federation to empower girls and women to defense themselves from any forms of gender-based violence.
How
Under the Guardian Girls International Guideline and supervision of the World Karate Federation and Koyamada International Foundation, a Guardian Girls-authorized National Federation of the WKF will work closely with the its affiliated Karate schools and Guardian Girls-certified Karate instructors to implement the actual Guardian Girls Karate Academy in their schools.
Who
The Guardian Girls Karate Academy provides opportunities for all girls and women with and without any Karate and martial arts experience, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion and sex.
