Bogotá Hosts 2nd Session of Guardian Girls Aikido Academy
On January 25, 2025, the second session of the Guardian Girls Aikido Academy was held at Centro del Japón, Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, hosted by Guardian Girls Colombia (GGC), the national committee of KIF Colombia. Established in 2024, the Academy offers monthly, no-cost training for pre-registered local women, focusing on practical self-protection skills through the discipline of Aikido.
For this session, 28 women registered within two weeks via WhatsApp, following promotion primarily on social media and direct invitations to past Academy participants. Attendance was limited to 10–15 women to maintain an optimal learning environment, with 9 participants ultimately taking part—consistent with program expectations.
Titled “10 Seconds to Survive,” the session equipped participants with essential Aikido-based techniques to safeguard themselves in dangerous situations, reinforcing Aikido’s reputation as the “martial art for peace.” The program’s relevance is particularly significant in Colombia and across the Latin American region.
