Guardian Girls National Committees (GGNCs) are national civil-society coordination platforms operating under the guidance of GGI.
In each country or territory, GGNCs support and coordinate Guardian Girls initiatives in collaboration with member organizations, communities, and public-sector partners, in alignment with GGI’s global standards, governance framework, and safeguarding principles.

National Leadership roles within GGNCs are voluntary, unpaid positions dedicated to public service, safeguarding, and ethical leadership.
National Leaders provide strategic direction, coordination, and oversight of Guardian Girls activities at the national level and serve within clearly defined mandates approved by GGI.

Role Summary:
The GGNC President (women only) provides overall leadership and strategic direction for Guardian Girls activities at the national level, ensuring alignment with GGI’s mission, values, governance standards, and safeguarding framework.
Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the GGNC
- Represent the GGNC nationally and internationally when formally mandated
- Chair GGNC meetings and guide consensus-based decision-making
- Coordinate with Committee Member organizations and partners
- Liaise with the GGI Global Secretariat and relevant regional leadership
- Uphold safeguarding, ethical conduct, and accountability standards
- One-year term
- Renewable subject to review and approval under GGI governance policies

The GGNC Secretary General oversees day-to-day coordination of GGNC activities and serves as the primary operational focal point at the national level.

- Manage communications with Committee Members and partners
- Oversee reporting, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Ensure implementation of GGI policies, project guidelines, and safeguarding standards
- One-year term
- Renewable subject to performance review
Role Summary:
Secretariat Members are volunteer team members who support GGNC leadership across functional areas, based on national needs and individual expertise.

- Safeguarding and protection
- Communications and media
- Administration and documentation
- Monitoring, reporting, and data support
- Term and scope are defined by the GGNC in coordination with GGI
- Continued service is subject to review and operational needs
Applicants must:
- Be a legal adult in their country of residence
- Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding, integrity, and ethical leadership
- Have no disqualifying criminal background
- Be able to serve in a voluntary, non-political, and non-commercial capacity
National Leaders may:
- Coordinate national Guardian Girls activities
- Represent the GGNC only when expressly authorized in writing
- Facilitate partnerships and dialogue within approved mandates
- Enter into binding agreements on behalf of GGI without written authorization
- Grant project implementation rights
- Act independently of GGI governance
All National Leaders must:
- Agree to the GGI Code of Conduct
- Comply with the GGI Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
- Submit required eligibility and background declarations
- Cooperate with oversight, review, and corrective processes
National Leaders are appointed following:
- Review of the online application
- Interview, if required
- Approval by GGI
- Issuance of an official Letter of Acceptance
Serving in a GGNC leadership role offers opportunities to:
- Contribute directly to the prevention of violence against women and girls
- Support safeguarding, inclusion, and community-based protection initiatives
- Engage with UN agencies, governments, foreign missions, NGOs, and sports organizations, as appropriate
- Gain experience in national and international nonprofit leadership
- Build professional networks across sectors and borders
