Volunteer National Leadership Opportunities

Would you be interested in contributing to the community where you live? GGI invites committed individuals to apply for volunteer national leadership roles within GGNCs (e.g. Guardian Girls Japan, Guardian Girls Kenya, Guardian Girls Indonesia, etc.). In each country/territory, GGNCs function as national civil-society platforms, coordinating Guardian Girls programs in collaboration with member organizations, communities, and public-sector partners, in line with GGI’s global standards and safeguarding principles. All leadership positions are voluntary and unpaid, offered in the spirit of public service, integrity, and international cooperation.

Available Positions:

Application Process:

  1. Select a leadership position and submit the official online application below for review.
  2. If shortlisted, you will receive an email to schedule an online interview with a GGI representative (if not already completed).
  3. If approved, GGI will issue an official Letter of Acceptance, along with relevant guidelines, policies, and any applicable agreements for you to review and sign by email.

| Role summary: The GGNC President (woman only) provides overall leadership and strategic direction for Guardian Girls activities at the national level, ensuring alignment with GGI’s mission, values, and safeguarding framework.

| Key responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the GGNC
    • Represent the GGNC nationally and internationally when formally mandated
    • Chair GGNC meetings and guide consensus-based decision-making
    • Coordinate with member organizations and partners
    • Liaise with GGI Global Secretariat and regional leadership
    • Uphold safeguarding, ethics, and accountability standards

| Term: One-year term, renewable subject to review and approval under GGI governance policies

| Role summary: The Secretary-General (or National Coordinator) oversees day-to-day coordination of GGNC activities and serves as the primary operational focal point.

| Key responsibilities:

    • Coordinate national programs and activities
    • Support the GGNC President and governance processes
    • Manage communications with members and partners
    • Oversee reporting, documentation, and compliance
    • Ensure implementation of GGI policies, guidelines, and safeguarding standards

| Term: One-year term, renewable subject to performance review

| Role summary: Volunteer Secretariat Members support GGNC leadership across functional areas, depending on national needs and individual expertise.

| Possible focus areas:

    • Program coordination
    • Safeguarding and protection
    • Communications and media
    • Administration and documentation
    • Monitoring, reporting, and data support

| Secretariat roles are assigned based on skills, availability, and organizational priorities.
