TransformándoNOS joins Guardian Girls Colombia in Bogotá
TransformandoNOS has officially joined the Guardian Girls Colombia program, led by the Koyamada International Foundation Colombia (KIF Colombia), to launch the "Guardian Girls Academy" as part of the national program in Bogotá.
Founded by former professional women’s soccer players Manuela Acosta and Michelle García, TransformandoNOS is a Colombian organization dedicated to advancing gender equality through sports, particularly soccer. The Guardian Girls Academy will empower and support Colombian women who have participated in TransformandoNOS initiatives, offering weekly sessions beginning on October 19th, 2024, for three months. Instruction will be provided by local Aikido instructors from the Colombia Aikido Federation (FCA), KIF Colombia’s national partner.
In September, Ms. Manuela Acosta, President of TransformandoNOS, and Ms. Nia Lyte, President of Guardian Girls International and KIF Colombia, formalized their partnership in an online signing ceremony to launch the Guardian Girls Academy in Bogotá. Following this, Ms. Acosta participated in a meeting with Ms. Camila Peroni and Ms. Maria Adaime, both board members of KIF Colombia, hosted by Japanese Ambassador Masahiro Takasugi at the Official Residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Bogotá.
