Guardian Girls National Committees (GGNC)

Membership Opportunities

Committee Membership is a national civil-society coordination role within a Guardian Girls National Committee (GGNC), which is formed in each country/territory.

Committee Members contribute to the promotion, coordination, and safeguarding-compliant support of Guardian Girls initiatives at the national level, in alignment with GGI standards.

  • Committee Membership:
  • Is voluntary and non-political
  • Does not constitute employment
  • Does not confer governance, voting, or representation authority
Committee Membership is open to eligible civil-society organizations and individuals, including:

  • Sports and physical education organizations
  • Non-profit and civil-society organizations (NGOs / NPOs)
  • Universities and academic institutions
  • Women instructors (individual members)
All applicants must align with GGI’s mission, safeguarding principles, and ethical standards.
Yes.

National federations affiliated with International Sports Federations that have signed global partnerships with GGI are automatically recognized as Committee Members of the relevant GGNC and do not need to submit the standard membership application.

This currently applies to national federations affiliated with:

Automatic recognition is based on federation status and does not grant project implementation rights.
Committee Members may:

  • Participate in national coordination meetings and dialogue
  • Collaborate with other vetted civil-society actors
  • Align with international safeguarding and ethical standards
  • Contribute to program planning, awareness, and community engagement
  • Be publicly recognized as a GGNC Member in line with GGI guidelines
Committee Membership does not provide:

  • Governance or decision-making authority
  • Leadership appointments
  • Authorization to deliver Guardian Girls programs
  • Employment, licensing, or certification status
Leadership roles and program delivery rights are accessed through separate application processes.
No.

Committee Membership enables coordination and participation but does not authorize an organization to deliver Guardian Girls projects.

Organizations wishing to implement a specific Guardian Girls project must apply separately to become an Authorized Implementing Organization and receive written approval from GGI.
  • Organizational Members may be subject to an annual membership contribution, determined by GGI in consultation with the relevant GGNC, taking national context into account.
  • Women instructors are not required to pay a membership contribution.
Membership contributions support global coordination, safeguarding oversight, and standards development and do not confer governance or implementation rights.
The Guardian Girls Guild (GGG) is a community and professional network for participants and women instructors.

GGG participation:

  • Supports peer learning and ethical practice
  • Is inclusive and non-governing
Participation in GGG does not constitute Committee Membership, leadership, or authorization to deliver programs unless separately approved.
Eligible organizations and individuals may apply through the official online Committee Membership application.

Applications are reviewed in accordance with:

  • GGNC Guidelines
  • GGI governance and safeguarding standards
