NOC Indonesia Becomes First Olympic Committee to Join GGI
Historic collaboration aims to strengthen women’s participation, leadership, safety, and inclusion across Indonesia’s sports ecosystem.
Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC Indonesia) and Guardian Girls International (GGI) have officially signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), making NOC Indonesia the first National Olympic Committee (NOC) in the world to formally join and partner with GGI. As a result, Indonesia becomes the first country globally to establish an official National Olympic Committee partnership framework with Guardian Girls International.
The agreement marks a major milestone in the global expansion of the Guardian Girls movement, which has launched initiatives in more than 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas in collaboration with governments, United Nations agencies, international sports federations, embassies, and civil society organizations.
The partnership establishes a strategic framework to advance women’s empowerment, safety, leadership, safeguarding, and Safe Sport initiatives through sports across Indonesia.

The MOU was signed by Mr. Shin Koyamada, Chairman and Secretary General of GGI, and Mr. Raja Sapta Oktohari, President of NOC Indonesia, during the official launch activities of Guardian Girls Indonesia (GGNC Indonesia) in Jakarta.
Under the agreement, the Parties will collaborate to support the development and implementation of Guardian Girls projects nationwide through Guardian Girls Indonesia, the official national platform of GGI in Indonesia.
The partnership aims to strengthen women’s participation, safety, and leadership across Indonesia’s sports ecosystem by engaging Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations under a unified national platform in collaboration with NOC Indonesia.
A key component of the partnership is the implementation of the Guardian Girls Safe Sport (GGSS) project, which focuses on promoting safe and inclusive sporting environments for women across the sports ecosystem. GGSS activities may include self-protection and confidence-building training, safeguarding and Safe Sport education, leadership development programs, and regional women’s dialogue platforms such as the Southeast Asia Women Citizen Dialogue (SEA-WCD) Indonesia.
