Formal Meeting with ASEAN Deputy Secretary General

Shin Koyamada, Board Chairman of Guardian Girls International (GGI), held a formal meeting with San Lwin, Deputy Secretary-General of the ASEAN Secretariat, at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta on November 7, 2025, to further strengthen the institutional relationship between GGI and ASEAN and to explore future areas of collaboration.

During the meeting, Mr. Koyamada shared GGI’s global efforts and highlighted key initiatives launched in the ASEAN region. He presented the launch of the Guardian Girls Vovinam project in Hanoi on September 16–17, 2025, implemented in partnership with the World Vovinam Federation, marking Viet Nam as the first ASEAN Member State to implement the program. He also shared the recent launch of the Guardian Girls Ju-Jitsu (GGJJ) project in Bangkok, following GGI’s partnership agreement with the Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) signed on November 4, 2025, making Thailand the second ASEAN Member State to join the initiative.

Mr. Koyamada expressed his appreciation for ASEAN’s leadership and the work of the ASEAN Commission on Women (ACW) in safeguarding the rights and well-being of women and girls across the region. He reaffirmed GGI’s strong interest in continuing and deepening collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ACW in the coming years.

He further shared GGI’s plans to expand Guardian Girls projects across ASEAN in ways that contribute directly to the implementation of the ACW Work Plan, as well as to key regional frameworks, including the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (RPA-EVAW) and the ASEAN Gender Mainstreaming Strategic Framework (AGMSF).
